As per our client's request they wanted the car enhanced to a brand new condition. The car had minor swirl marks and random Isolated deep scratches. New cars often suffer from defects such as glue residue where the transportation plastic has been removed but not cleaned hindering the paints overall condition. 

Our Recommendations 

I recommended a chemical decontamination as it's less aggressive and will remove the glue and environmental fallout from the paints surface prior the polishing. A single stage correction was recommended as there were swirls. A Ceramic Coating was the recommended form of sealant as it's the longest lasting and will seal in that new car look. Easier maintenance will also reduce the risk of swirl marks in the future.

The client requested a high quality ceramic coating. He had previously had a poor experience with the dealerships paint protection. Upon inspection the car had various defects, water spotting, swirl marks, deep scratches, and lack of gloss.

I recommended a 2 stage paint correction to rectify those defects. The best possible finish for a new model high end vehicle deserves the utmost quality. Proper preparation for the car includes machine polishing as it's essential the cars surface is defect free prior to applying the protective coating.

David came in for a routine detail, wash and chemical decontamination, thorough wheel clean, hard paste wax . Being a newly purchased car we wanted to strip it down to reveal the true paint condition. Being an older car the callipers required some attention as well as various panels had been repainted identifying paint flaws and alignment problems.

What did you recommend? & why?

I recommended David have some panels repainted prior to any corrections being made. Some defects weren't able to be fixed as they had struck through the clear coat and were beyond repair, the callipers also needed repainting.

Once all these areas are repaired, I recommended we take the car through a thorough correction treatment and apply a Ceramic Coating for long term protection.

Layla found us on social media and requested a Ceramic Coating on her newly painted Silvia. Newly painted cars present some odd defects (sanding marks, sink back, solvent pop, texture or orange peel) so additional education was important prior to the inspection.

I recommended that Layla come in a little earlier prior to the job being processed to talk about the defects present. I recommended a single stage correction with some spot sanding as there were some deeper defects present. Anything that was out of the ordinary I advised Layla about (as these issues should have been resolved during the painting stage).
